Condition varies a little, generally very good but the spines are varyingly tanned and faded on some of the earlier ones, some a little crumbly. Quite dusty inside on some volumes. Some interleaves a little tanned. Expect varying condition but generally good to very good. Front covers especially are lovely and bright.
Founded in the late 1880s, Mavor & Coulson Ltd. was a world-renowned manufacturer of electrical generators, underground coal cutters, and industrial conveyor machinery. Driven by the progressive initiatives of partner Samuel Miller Mavor, the company became highly regarded for its advanced employee welfare and education systems.
As part of this welfare program, they produced The M. & C. Apprentices' Magazine, which was the first employee/apprentice publication of its kind in Scotland. It featured regular updates on industrial engineering practices, records of company events, serialization of biographies, and articles written by the apprentices themselves, reflecting the social and industrial climate of Glasgow at the time
