Notes: (A4) No dust jacket; 6 volumes (1-6) altogether however two different versions; 3 volumes (IV, V, VI) circa 1897 (estimated, no date given) published by Cassell & Company and are quarter burgundy leather bound with gilt titles on spine on top of black leather label; and the rest marble paper covering; very good condition; light foxing on ffeps; volume VI includes maps attached which are in good condition however one is ripped on the edges; all volumes have relatively clean fore edges for age (mark here and there) and throughout and the other 3 volumes (I, II, III) published in 1881 by cassell, petter, galpin & co; poor condition; some similar bind however in poor condition as some covers have ripped off; and spines torn in places; some foxing on ffeps; a some speckles throughout but overall clean; these volumes really just need to be rebound.
