Two volumes in very good condition for their age, in original binding. Vol1: The Author's Miscellanies in Prose and Vol. 3, The Travels of Captain Lemuel Gulliver the editio princeps of Gulliver's Travels, being the first edition published in line with Swift's original intentions. The first ever publication of Gulliver's Travels in 1726 was heavily edited away from Swift's vision.
Both books are in quite good condition for their age, but still showing considerable signs of wear. There is an ex-libris stamp to the title page on both volumes. There is some insect damage to vol. 1, and the leather has cracked either side of the spine on both volumes, though the raised bands are securely holding the binding together. The leather on the spine is crackling. The top and bottom of the spine is missing. There is general wear to the boards. The foxing internally is minimal. Overall, they are an attractive pair of books which are very much showing their age.
